Rhino Wrestlers End New Jersey Freestyle Season…
Look Forward to Great 8 Series
Rhino wrestlers recently finished the New Jersey freestyle season in preparation for the summer national circuit. They started off their season with a trip to Brockport, NY for the Northeast Regionals. While there, Charlie Frankel took first place and guaranteed himself a spot in the Junior National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota. At the NJ State Freestyle Championships, Charlie Frankel and Scott Winston earned a spot on the New Jersey Junior National Team with first place finishes, while Chris Fraley and Jimmy Somma narrowly missed and plan to petition onto the team. Josh Davis will represent NJ on the Cadet Team, and Tyler Fraley and Mike Shaughnessy were also selected for the New Jersey Schoolboy Team. In addition, “The Leader of The Rhino Herd,” Mike Malinconico was named as one of the Cadet/Junior National Team coaches and will head out to Fargo with Team New Jersey.
In addition to Fargo, it’s that time of the year again for the Great 8 Summer Wrestling Series. We expect to have a great turnout from our wrestlers, as this is a great way to get invaluable experience during the off-season. In addition to the Great 8, there are many other tournaments that we expect to have a presence at to help further the advancement of our wrestlers. |
